Native to the peat bogs of the Cape, in South Africa, it carries red tentacles each tipped with a bead of sticky mucilage, shining like dew in the sun.
When an insect sticks, the leaf slowly curls around it over a few hours until it is completely wrapped, then unrolls once digestion is done.
